About Us
The Millington Arbela District Library provides many services for its patrons. Available to the public are the following:

Watermelon Club
In the summer the lbrary has programs for school-age children. The Watermelon Club is always a favorite. Children do crafts, play games and have a good time. The last meeting of the summer ends with a watermelon seed-spitting contest.
Accelerated Reading
The library has a large collection of accelerated reading books. These books are titles that on the test disks at Glaza, Kirk and St. Paul’s elementary schools. If you can’t get them there, try here.

Summer Reading Club
Don’t lose your reading skills over the summer, join your friends and win great prizes.
Pre-school Story Hour
The library offers a Pre-school story hour at the library. Stories, puppets, music, games are all part of the fun. Call the library at 989.871.2003 to enroll your child in these programs.
Reference
Trained reference staff await even your most unusual questions! Over 700 magazines and newspapers are available through the library databases, as well as a subscription to ancestory.com.

On-Line Reference Tools are links to other Web sites that can help you find what you are looking for. If you still can’t find an answer to your question, please ask at the library’s Circulation Desk, or call the library at 989.871.2003.

Inter-library Loan
Did you know that you can check out books and other materials from libraries across the country through the Millington Arbela District Library? This service is free. Just ask at the desk, or you are now able to request your own inter-library loans on-line from the Michigan statewide database (MeLCat).
Home Delivery
If you can’t make it to the library because of a medical condition, we offer a limited home delivery service. Call the library at 989.871.2003 to make arraignments.
Print Enlarger
Can’t read the small print? Bring it to the library and use our print enlarger. This service is free. Please call ahead and we will have it set up when you come in.
Tax-Deductible Donations
Donations to the library receive a 50% tax credit on your State of Michigan taxes. This includes memorial gifts. Individuals can donate up to $200 each year for a tax credit. Couples can donate up to $400. Feel free to call the library at 989.871.2003 for more information.
Conference Room
The library has a conference room available for no charge for use by non-profit groups. Call to make a reservation. It is available on a first come, first served basis. Please note that fire safety laws require groups to be limited to 20 people or less.
Large Print and Audio Books
If you have been having trouble reading regular print, try the library’s large print collection and audio book collection. We have have an extensive collection of both. We can also interloan large print and audio materials for you.
Children’s Magazines
The library has a collection of children’s magazines that can be checked out in the same way as books.
Newspapers
Did you know that the library has a collection of Millington Herald newspapers? Papers from 1930 through 1990 are available. The library also subscribes to The Tuscola County Advertiser, The Vassar Pioneer Times, and the Millington-Lakeville Times.
High School Yearbooks
Come to the library and check out your mom and dad’s high school pictures. The library has a collection of Millington High School yearbooks from the 1920’s to the class of 2009.
