Preserve It or Lose It! Preserving your personal pictures and documents

Have a shoe­box of pho­tographs tucked away in the clos­et? Years of pics jam­ming up your phone? Just in time for Preservation Week two experts from the University of Michigan Library Department of Preservation and Conservation will dis­cuss the fun­da­men­tals of pre­serv­ing per­son­al doc­u­ments and images. They will present basic strate­gies for pre­serv­ing both phys­i­cal items and dig­i­tal files and include tips for how to dig­i­tize phys­i­cal doc­u­ments to share and keep. There will be an extend­ed ques­tion time for par­tic­i­pants to ask about pre­serv­ing their own documents.
