Down-Loadable Audio Books Added

The Millington Arbela District Library is proud to announce an additional service to our patrons. That is, the availability of down-loadable audio books to library card holders.

This library, along with the other libraries who are members of the White Pine Library Cooperative, has contracted with OverDrive for this service. The audio books are playable on most portable media players such as iPods, Zunes, Sansas, etc.. If you don’t have access to a computer, the Millington Arbela District Library has licensed a public access computer in the library for you to use to download audio books directly onto your personal media player.

New Shelves Donated to the Library

New donated Junior Non-Fiction collection shelves

The Millington Arbela District Library has added new shelving for the Junior Non-Fiction collection thanks to a generous memorial donation from the family of Norma Welch.

Mrs. Welch, who was a teacher in the Vassar School District for many years, especially loved the Millington library. Her family felt that a memorial that would serve the needs of children would be something that she would have been very proud of.

Additionally, the new shelving allows the library to move the collection of over 3,200 Children’s Non-Fiction books closer to the area where the Children’s Fiction books are located. This makes the books easier for children and their parents to locate.
